Pemberton was once a thriving township surrounded by towering karri forest for as far as the eye could see. It was also a logging town and consequently much of the forest has disappeared however remnants still exist and the feeling on being in the heart of karri country still permeates. The countryside around Pemberton is very picturesque with rolling hills and lush bushland, and it is the trees which still attract visitors. The township itself features a cluster of old workers’ cottages and many signs from the past.
