The Blackwood River is the longest continually running waterway in the South West of Western Australia and as a result the valley region is one of the lushest and greenest areas year round.
The Blackwood River valley is a picturesque region of rolling hills and beautiful countryside, a favourite with tourists and visitors with a number of quaint country towns with a traditional feel and loads of appeal.
In summer it can be quite hot but in winter the hills can be shrouded in mist, creating a variety of environments that can be used to recreate a wide range of settings.
Besides beautiful scenery, the region also features:
– wineries
– country music heritage
– annual ute and truck muster
– music festivals
– flower festivals and wildflower displays
– car rally
– mountain bike events
– medieval carnival
– power boat races
