The township of Margaret River itself is located right in the middle of the Margaret River region which stretches from Cape Naturaliste in the north to Cape Leeuwin in the south. The small township has always had an appealing, mesmerizing characteristic which has attracted people to the region for many years. In the early days it was backpackers, surfers and hippies drawn to the region for the fabulous surf and deserted beaches or the tall forests, but as the attraction grew Margaret River attracted a more affluent visitor looking for a lifestyle change and the pleasures the region has to offer.
