This sleepy township boasts a special location on the south west corner of Australia where two oceans meet, watched over by the Cape Leeuwin lighthouse. While infrastructure is somewhat limited, Augusta does offer some very special attractions which make it an appealing location for numerous reasons. The old settlement of Flinders Bay is home to old cottages left over from logging days. The Flinders Bay jetty is the departure point for whale watching vessels during Aug-Sep. The panoramic views from the top of the main township over the estuary and ocean are amazing. The estuary is popular for fishing, crabbing, sailing and boating and is home to a family of dolphin who frequent the main beach area. The rugged beach stretches for miles and is world famous for kite surfing enthusiasts. Augusta is the epitome of an Australian holiday village but what you can find here when you look around is much more. The opportunities here are enormous.
