Pemberton

Pemberton was once a thriving township surrounded by towering karri forest for as far as the eye could see. It was also a logging town and consequently much of the forest has disappeared however remnants still exist and the feeling on being in the heart of karri country still permeates.

The countryside around Pemberton is very picturesque with rolling hills and lush bushland, and it is the trees which still attract visitors.

The township itself features a cluster of old workers’ cottages and many signs from the past.

Main features of interest in and around Pemberton include:

– the Gloucester Tree which you can climb to the top of
– the old workers’ cottages in Pemberton
– Big Brook Dam
– trout fishing in the river
– Beedelup National Park and Pool (Karri Valley)
– Karri Forest Explorer Drive
